For inside measurements I would only trust a precision micrometer, frequently
calibrated, in the hands of an experienced user. We are looking for less than
a half of a thousands. One or two ten thousands should be the tolerance.
Chinese micrometers from Horrible Freight are good for estimates and surveying on
tear down but I would never trust them for assembly. I leave the accuracy for
the machinist and double check that I'm not screwing up with plastigauge.
