You missed:
Leakdown test --every few race weekends

Check brakes  every race weekend

Check wheel bearings --every few race weekends

check ball joints, heim joints, nut and bolt -- every race weekend.

I'm generally a lot less interested in the motor than I am in the  
mechanical condition of the car.
I don't rely on tech inspection to catch these things, it's much too  
variable.
