[Fot] Tr3 steering shaft

I have the one piece shaft in the car and an extra unit in storage (lower half only).  I don't plan on swapping this out now since everything is working great.  I'll look for a smaller dia. Quick release unit.  Btw, I just had some nice roll bar work done, if anyone wants to see, email me for pictures.

The later TR3s had split steering shafts.B  If yours is a solid one piece I would look for a later gearbox with the slit column.B  Much eaiser to work on as well..B

Subject: [Fot] Tr3 steering shaftI'm about to get a quick release steering wheel shaft welded to my existing steering shaft.  The part that was ordered is bigger in diameter than the shaft itself. Does this mean I could not ever fix the steering box, should the need arise because the shaft pulls out from the front?  Do I need to get a quick release unit with an end that's the same dia. As the shaft and not bigger?
