[Fot] Hooking up Pertronix Ignitor and Flame Thrower in my TR6

This TR6 is only used to race.  Right now, the ignition is stock points
which I believe have the ballast wire but I will definitely make sure
whether or not it has the ballast wire before I go further.  For the racing
application, don't I want to get rid of the ballast wire and run 12 volts to
the coil?  To do this, would I just run a new, clean wire from the ignition
switch.  The Ignitor instructions say not to remove the ballast wire but I
assume they only mean in a stock set up.  Any thoughts on plug gap or even
heat range?  In the off season, I will be going to triple Webers.  Any tips
would be greatly appreciated.
