[Fot] What came first - the head gasket or the freeze plug????

I lost a freeze plug on my Spitfire years ago and more recently had one
leaking on a head that I rebuilt for my TR3. Both were plugs that were in
place for years. From now on, I will replace them as part of the build up, so
that I know what I have.
With my Spitfire I drilled and tapped 4-40 screws next to the freeze plug as a
little more insurance to retain the plug. Joe(B)

Hi Jay....I don't know what TR you are racing, ..I have a new engine in my
Spitfire....and the new freeze plugs are leaking..without even being on the
track.....I've been told that now that the blocks are getting old, that
putting a sealer in the water system is a normal thing ?
I could use some input here too.
Thanks
