Mark,

It's hardly a case of the "last one holding it gets stuck with the bill"
as if I was setting up some sort of evil pyramid scheme. The last one
holding it gets to keep it. Some people actually like to be at the end
of such a process, they're called "collectors"! No guilt here.

It turns out that the buyer was looking for the magazine, so I am doing
him a service, with no finder's fee, no hidden handling fees, no mark
up, and no hidden agenda. I drove to the store, I bought the magazine
with sales tax, I made the post, I fielded the responses, I'll pack
the magazine, I'll drive to the post office, and I'll ship the magazine.
And he will have it in hands before his check has even been cashed. Did
you say I will have read the magazine for "free" as a result of this
offer? Once again, no guilt here.

I know you're just "joking", but your comment was forwarded to the
entire group and, joking or not, it impugned my character, particularly
if a reader, possibly like you, didn't consider the other side of the
coin. If you had made your comment in private, to me alone, I'd be
laughing with you. One should always think twice before hitting that
send button, particularly when there's CC's involved. I know I've
screwed up by pushing the send button many a time, myself, and I'm sure
I'll make similar mistakes in the future, no doubt. (Maybe I'm making
a mistake here!)

Maybe next time I find a particularly Triumph collectable magazine, I'll
wait a few months, and then put it on Ebay. One time I did that when
the magazine was still new, and a guy bid it up to $60.00. I felt
guilty and wrote the guy, and he said, "No worries! I'm just glad to
have found magazine, they're sold-out around here. I'm happy to pay the
$60.00." So maybe I should just stick to the profit angle in the
future?

(just a little miffed)
