The Brad Penn oils are promising. But fear not - it appears that
good old Castrol GTX 20W50 is an excellent choice for our engines,
except that it has some problems with viscosity retention.

Chuck Navarro at LN Engineering is taking this oil stuff very
seriously. He's focused on air-cooled engines, so he has a slightly
different bent, but those engines are flat-tappet engines and
are having those same problems. He's been doing a lot of oil
sampling and testing, and is continuing to do so as the 
oil makers change their formulations (seemingly daily).
