[Fot] Summers Brothers Axle Failures?

Just perusing Kas's forums (at

ssage?topicID=59.topic>) and saw a note from Steve Adams of Fat Bastard
Racing in the UK about failures of the Summers Brothers Axles on
Spitfire/GT6 road racers.  Several questions;  Any one on this side of the
pond had problems?  Sounds like these were in their 4th year of use, so
maybe replacement after a couple of seasons is necessary?  Have new
modifications been done to reduce or eliminate the problem?  Chuck Gee - do
your hubs eliminate this problem altogether?
