I haven't seen this mentioned yet in britcar circles, so let me start here...
apparently for emissions purposes (to increase the life of catalytic
converters), the amount of zinc and phosphorus in the current EPA
standards has been reduced.
Reduced to the point that there is accelerated cam lobe wear in
flat tappet engines.
