[Fot] Can radial and bias race tires be mixed successfully?

People actually do this all the time, I know most of the poopers run Hoosiers
on the back and avons on the front. But it takes a lot of fiddling to make
that work: tire pressure, camber, and sometimes toe. You seem more like a
"show up and drive" kind of guy. I don't think you're likely to put in the
effort to make that work. there's about a twenty percent chance it will feel
okay to you. Be sure to bring backup tires the first time.

Jim...

I am wrestling with a related issue right now. Two years ago I bought a set
of Goodyear Blue Streaks for my TR3, only to find the fit on the front, but
not on the rear. They've been on the shelf since.

This spring I decided I wanted to see if I could run them on the front, where
they fit, and run different tires in the rear. In this case the rear tires
will be by another manufacture, and a different size. I have discussed this
with three different distributors, including SASCO and WOODMAN. All of them
say, while uncommon, there is no problem doing so, EXCEPT don't mix bias and
radial.

I've not tried this yet, but will be doing so shortly.
