[Fot] Car Club Question

For drives held on public roads, we've been basically ignoring the risk.
The club itself has no assets (well, not enough to be worth pursuing in
court anyway) and the risk to individuals within the club would appear to be
minimal.  We emphasize that participants should obey all applicable laws and
exercise their own judgment.

For events not held on public roads, we obtain event insurance through VTR.
At least here in CA, the venues require this anyway.

I'm no lawyer, nor do I play one on television.  But some of our club
members are lawyers, and they seem to feel this approach is reasonable.  Of
course, now that I think about it, the lawyers rarely organize events ...
maybe there's something they're not telling us ?
