Joe Gibbs Oils are used in Cup cars and are made specifically for flat tappet
motors.

  Group,
We ran Mobil 1 in the TR6 from about 1987 on and added EOS with
every oil change. We never had a cam or lifter problem running beyond
.530 lift and stock diameter lifters. If you read Smokey Yunick's book
he recommended EOS to add ZDDP for cam protection. If anybody has any
connections with a current Cup engine builder they should know about
current oils because they still require flat tappet cams and they run
some extreme pressures over the nose. Their valve spring rates sound
like front spring rates to us. They do run some exotic cam & lifter
alloys though.
If you are running a Spitfire or TR6 make sure the cam grinder knows
how to deal with our small diameter lifters. You can't just run a small
block Chevy acceleration ramp which is what most grinders want to do.
After all, if you're not racing a Chevy or Ford you're just not a
serious racer. Evidence of the wrong ramp are rounded corners of the
bottom of the lifters and "wiping" of the opening sides of the lobe.
