Chris all the best for Christams and have a safe New Year! This was sent to me
and will give you an idea of the type of racing that we can do with the TR2
Turbo.

>I have been doing some promotional work for the Australian Motor
>Racing Series AMRS), drumming up business and doing some
>presentations on
suspension set up at their open day, last Sunday at Wakefield.
>
>There is a
new AMRS category in 2007 for sports and GT cars called
>the Australian Inter
Marque Championship. It is for all sports and
>GT cars competing under a
power to weight ratio formula. At the
>moment it has a lot of Porsches and
MX5's and they are desperate to
>get interesting cars in to spice up the
show. I think this would be
>brilliant to show case the TR.
>
>There are six
rounds, and good TV coverage. So, unlike historics,
>advertising is allowed
and all your costs of building and running
>the car this financial year and
next, would be tax deductible.
>
>There is no problem with eligibility of the
car. You do not need a
>CAMS log book. Only a AASA vehicle passport which
costs $20. I am
>sure that with slick racing tyres and 220 bhp, and some
solid
>testing, you will be able to do 1 11's at Wakefield, and run with
>the MX5's and lesser category 911's and some of the Marque Sports
>Cars.
Ultimately, with more horsepower and work on the set up, the
>car could
probably get into 1 08's. But you get the idea of this
>series - you do not
have to push for that kind of pace. The car
>would look brilliant at that
pace and in this type of competition.
>
>You do not need a Cams licence for
AMRS, only a AASA licence which
>would be quick to organise and costs $210.
>
>Mate, if you thought you wanted to do this, I will carry my phone
>over
Christmas, and we could talk about it any time. The organiser
>of the
series, John Good is also keen to talk to any potential
>entrants any time.
>
>Cheers,
>
>Dale
