That was a great race. Sam Halkias (TR6) was actually in the lead for
about 30 feet on the restart lap when everyone was trying to figure out
how to get three-wide in the esses. Knapp went around the outside in the
Lotus (I'm not sure if it's a Chaterham or not) and eventually won. I
still can't figure out why Halkias and the Prelude were leaning on each
other at the beginning of the hill. From the arm-chair general position,
it looks like it cost Sam H. 2nd. Oh well. I would have had to take a
month off if a TR6 won the E Prod championship. :-)

I have the bootlid from Sam's car on my race car now.

But current SCCA racing seems to involve cars leaning on each other as a
matter of course lately (last 10 years or so). That's one reason you're
seeing less vintage racers in that venue here in the US. It's not SCCA's
fault, per se, it's just the mindset of the participants.
