[Fot] TR6 STEERING RACK MOVE

Hello One and All,
        Does anyone out there have any experience with moving the stock TR6
steering rack forward by 1/2 inch. I have a customer who is placing a Ford 302
V8 in his TR6 and wants me to move the rack for clearance of the fan pulley.
My concern is what will it do the bump steer equation and if I move it, should
I lower or raise it??
