One of them is a large 500mF one that hangs off the incoming power line, and the rest of the electrolytics are little “can” styled ones on the circuit board, The paper capacitor is a big wax covered thing (5mF, 500v) that is wired up by the speaker output wires. Paper capacitors went away in the early ‘70s, and would generally be replaced with a “film” capacitor (usually a polypropylene or some other plastic as the dielectric instead of paper). For more details on re-capping, <a href="https://antiqueradio.org/recap.htm#identifying">https://antiqueradio.org/recap.htm#identifying</a> is a good reference and also informative on what to use if you can’t fine anything with the exact capacitance and/or voltage rating. <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ll try to get some before and after pics to post also, but like I say, it may be a while.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>-Dan <o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b>From:</b> Greg Messemer <gmessemer@gmail.com> <br><b>Sent:</b> Sunday, November 20, 2022 4:25 PM<br><b>To:</b> Dan Heinze <roadster@san.rr.com><br><b>Cc:</b> datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net<br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [Roadsters] Radio Schematic<o:p></o:p></p></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div><p class=MsoNormal>You should post all the MOUSER parts on 311 with a photo of what you plan on replacing. The schematic that Greg attached appears to be a better copy than the one in the radio user’s manual on 311s where some of the component values are not clearly legible. I got all the electronics and controls removed from the case yesterday and have a Mouser Electronics order for all the electrolytic caps and the one big paper cap ready to go. There’s only one electrolytic that is visibly bad, but always a good idea to replace all the electrolytic and paper capacitors. The ceramic and mica caps rarely go bad. I also found a questionable antenna connection. Will repost when I get around to working on it… though that may not be until after the holidays.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Thanks / Dan<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'> <o:p></o:p></p><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #E1E1E1 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'><b>From:</b> Datsun-roadsters <<a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters-bounces@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters-bounces@autox.team.net</a>> <b>On Behalf Of </b>Greg Messemer via Datsun-roadsters<br><b>Sent:</b> Sunday, November 20, 2022 1:24 PM<br><b>To:</b> <a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net</a><br><b>Subject:</b> [Roadsters] Radio Schematic<o:p></o:p></p></div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'> <o:p></o:p></p><div><div><div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>The Radio Schematic ii in one of the last pages of the manual.<o:p></o:p></p></div><div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'> <o:p></o:p></p></div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'> <o:p></o:p></p><div><div><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>On Sun, Nov 20, 2022 at 11:45 AM <<a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters-request@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters-request@autox.team.net</a>> wrote:<o:p></o:p></p></div><blockquote style='border:none;border-left:solid #CCCCCC 1.0pt;padding:0in 0in 0in 6.0pt;margin-left:4.8pt;margin-top:5.0pt;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:5.0pt'><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto'>Send Datsun-roadsters mailing list submissions to<br> <a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net</a><br><br>To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit<br> <a href="http://autox.team.net/mailman/listinfo/datsun-roadsters" target="_blank">http://autox.team.net/mailman/listinfo/datsun-roadsters</a><br>or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to<br> <a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters-request@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters-request@autox.team.net</a><br><br>You can reach the person managing the list at<br> <a href="mailto:datsun-roadsters-owner@autox.team.net" target="_blank">datsun-roadsters-owner@autox.team.net</a><br><br>When replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific<br>than "Re: Contents of Datsun-roadsters digest..."<br><br><br>Today's Topics:<br><br> 1.
