I have a strange metal on metal THUNK in the front end when I hit the brakes firmly or go over a bump. I've had several mechanics check the brakes, steering system (including the problematic idler box), suspension, and they can't find it. I've replaced the spindle, control arms, lower ball joints, rebuilt the idler box, replaced springs, etc and it still makes the noise. The slop in the front end is mostly gone though and steering is tighter, so that is good. Just not sure where the noise is coming from. I"m looking for nice black carpeted ones with the Datsun logo. I see that Zcars sells them, but not for the roadster.
