design...they just use one chain instead of two...with a smoother rev .</div>
<div>The 240 engine and later was just another two cylinders added to a 4
cylinder block design...there were also other motors Nissan used in Japan</div>
<div>that never made it to US or overseas they had a V 8 version that was
similar to the Mercedes that it had one timing chain in front. There were</div>
<div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1463150784450_138360">so many differences that no one company could say you copied this from
me...Japan or Nissan would buy licences for certain parts if they felt it was
cheaper to do..ie..buying the fifth gearing for the roadster 5 speed..and that
they used a NA automatic transmission for the 240 . </div>

criticized by Euro-centric car enthusiasts for simply copying British designs.
This was somewhat true after WWII, when Datsun was making Austin clones under
license.</div>

Car and Driver Web article about BMW, which began with airplanes prior to WWI,
then switched to motorcycles after the war. Here’s the quote:</div>
