[Roadsters] 2000 roadster rear

The Roadster used the same center section as the 68-73 510 wagon. They have the smaller 23 "V" shaped splines for the axle. The 510 Wagon came with 3.89 ratio and would be a fairly simple swap. It may need the input flange changed, but that would be it. 

The 320, 520, 521 & 620 trucks also used the H190 differential with an aluminum case. The 320 case is slightly different in design and has 13 square splines for the axle, but it will physically fit into the axle housing. It is said that the later 620 cases were steel, but I've parted 78 & 79 620s and they all had aluminum cases. The later trucks with H190s are steel case, used in the 720 & some early D21 Hard Bodies/Pathfinders. 

All H190 centers, aluminum or steel, will fit into any H190 axle housing, but the axle splines are different. The 320 has 13 square splines, the rest of the trucks have the larger 29 "V" spline axles. There are also H190 23 spline axles under the 810 Wagon and 29 spline axles under 83-84 200SX cars. I outlined much of this in the thread I posted to Ratsun (Link below). 

There was a 4.11 ratio that will fit the Roadster's aluminum housing , but these are RARE and came in a limited number of 620 trucks, automatics as I remember. T he 4.11 ratio can be found in the later trucks with the steel case, but these gears do not fit the aluminum cases. I've heard that the steel case pinion gear can be machined to fit the aluminum case but I cannot verify this as true. At an added weight, the whole steel case truck center with the 4.11 could be swapped into the Roadster with a side gear swap.

Are you near Ohio? I have a full rear end from a ‘69 2000. Not sure of the gear ratio. I won’t be able to get to it until April as we are snowbirds this winter. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll send pictures next month.

That is a great question to ask on [ http://www.311s.org/ | www.311s.org ] . A few gearsets have been discussed/listed for sale. Another place to ask is on the Vintage Datsun Road Racing forum on Facebook. 

There are several axles sizes between truck and roadster, I don't think they are interchangeable.
