Tom, this discussion of the Gary Boone EI distributor is circa 1999 from the 311s site:
“ The "late style" electronic distributor is one from a Datsun 210, 310 or
pickup in the 1978 to 1982 range. The roadster distributor shaft will fit
into these distributors and only needs a small spacer and a longer screw to
make it work. These distributors are available in junkyards for very
reasonable prices. Conversion is relatively simple and mechanical advance
limit mechanisms can be found with advances similar to the roadster. It is
probably better to use a coil from one of the vehicles that the distributor
comes from. The ignition module is mounted on the side of the distributor.
The cap and rotor are a bit larger than the roadster one.”
I’ve never needed to replace my GB EI cap, but I did recall B210, which this appears to partially confirm.
