There are some metallic silver-grey or charcoal grey colors that I like, but so many of these new colors appear to be just industrial paint. Think HVAC systems or electrical power boxes. I predict they will age about as well as the earth tones of the mid 1980's. It strikes me as more silver than grey. Some of these others make me think "interior semi-gloss latex." Back in the day (1998) Brian Cano brought his 69 2000 to Shasta. It had the most spectacular SILVER! paint job I've ever seen! It looked like molten silver just poured out of a ladle. I wish I had a picture that did it justice, but I don't. I have a 2012 Altima that my son drives. Some guys wheel came off his car and it was laying in the street when my son ran over it. The plastic bumper is trashed and insurance paid out $900 to have it replaced. I would take me 2-4 hours to DIY with a $350 pre-painted bumper. I thought I?d ask if anyone else has done this and how it came out. Please excuse the off-topic subject, but this list includes people that know their stuff when it comes to paint and body work.
