[Roadsters] Brake Light Switch Stop Nut

Had intermittent to no brake lights at recent annual inspection, traced to a failed switch.  Sourced switch and snubber.

Test fitting the new brake light switch fixed the brake light problem, and the remnants of a crystalized snubber fell off when removing the defective switch housing and stop nut.

Now the issue is how to get the 14mm stop nut that should be forward of the bracket, started on the threaded portion of the new switch housing that goes through the bracket from aft forward. Blind location and fat fingers don't help. 

Tips and tricks?

I will leave the new snubber off for the time being given I cannot see where it came from or where it should go, unless there are also tips and tricks for visualizing and replacing that.
