I have that starter but all the time it engages with a thunk but doesn't turn. If I jump the battery it cranks like crazy. How many CCA should my battery have?Sent from my Verizon, Samsung Galaxy smartphone

We have a local starter shop that built mine. Seems he used something from a Honda & put the correct drive on it. A gear reduction starter is the way to go. You'll
never have starting problems again. We used them on both
race 1600s; engines with much higher compression than
stock. Try http://tsimportedautomotive.com/
for a starter. Tell Ted I sent you, but he'll probably just
laugh!
And I can't remember what battery I used, I moved it to
the passenger side of the trunk.

I have had good service from an Odyssey PC680, located
same place, but in a laydown aluminum housing.
Also use a short-nosed, gear-reduction starter, which
cuts startup current draw substantially.

Hey all,
What size/group battery do you use? I have the
original hold down.
The stock size skinny battery has such low amps my
starter has a hard time turning over.
