[Roadsters] Update on Trixie

Good afternoon,

 

I hate reading what happened to Gary and I received an email asking if I was
"for real."  Not sure how to answer that one but I am.  I have had several
requests for additional photos and a price.  As ALL of you are aware, we as
a group put tons and tons of money into our passions.  So I will attempt to
keep that from jading my view.

 

Here was my plan:

 

*	The body has some serious repair work to be completed.  The
passenger side floor pan needs to be repaired
*	I would replace the front driver side fender because the I cannot
keep the fender repair from cracking. 
*	Trunk hood needs to go to metal and painted.  I had an okay painter
touch it up about four years ago and the paint flaked off.
*	Engine runs a little hot, so I installed an electric fan on the
radiator.  Fixed the problem, but I am not sure if that is the best solution
*	I would replace the original distributor with an electric one.  I
was in queue for one of East Coast  Distr (I forget the guy's name that made
them about five years ago)
*	The car was running up until April of 2014.  As I mentioned, the
head lights would dim and get bright with a push of the gas pedal.  I
ordered a new alternator from Datsun Don, it came in, but unfortunately, I
was in Afghanistan.  Yes, the alternator is in the UNOPENED box in the
trunk.  Never got around to doing it.
*	All five (including the spare) tires are shot.  They HAVE to be
replaced, but the Pansport rims look great.

The body is in okay shape.  The top is in great shape; the tonneau cover
looks brand new.  The tonneau cover is custom to this car; I had it made
when I put in new seats and redid the upholstery.  So it probably will not
fit any other car.

 

I would like to get $3500.   However, I know that not everyone is in the
Virginia area and you would have to make arrangements to pick the vehicle up
and have it shipped.  

 

I have one Datsun enthusiast looking at it here in VA on Friday.  After
that, I am posting it to 311s.org.   

 

If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.  If you think the price
is right, love to know that.  If you think it is too low, I would REALLY
like to know that ;-)  I really want to find her a home.
