When I lived in Japan in 1970/71 I had a 1965 (I think) Cedric 31 series. I think it had a pushrod engine, but I also thought it was a 6 cylinder. It was so long ago, but I seem to recall it was called either a special 6 or possibly a super 6. Could have been just Super or Special, w/4 cylinder engine. Manual transmission. I think it looked like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_Cedric#/media/File:1965_Nissan_Cedric_Special.jpg

I bought it for about $600 when the yen was 360/dollar. I bought it with the possibility that it would be the sleeping accommodations for two at the World’s Fair, Expo 70. If we couldn’t find a better place.

I remember taking it in to the dealer for a front end alignment. None of the people there spoke English and I didn’t speak Japanese. I pointed to the front wheels and finally resorted to drawing pictures of the front end geometry. By this time about half a dozen folks from the service department were watching and commenting in Japanese. All of a sudden one of them says “Ah, Camber caster, toe in!” A good laugh was had by all.

Peace,

Pat
