[Roadsters] clips for front hood chrome piece

What two others said about the slip on part but be careful though, I've read that this can chip new paint if not done carefully. 
 
Isn't this piece made from stainless? I hope so anyway as I have a few I want to try to learn how to straighten/restore. Someone please let me know if I am mistaken here.
