First off, Merry Christmas to all!
I owned a 1982 Maxima, and was very fond of that voicebox that spoke to me. One time, driving from San Francisco to L.A. I was on fuel fumes approaching Bakersfield, with the car repeatedly telling me “Fuel level is low, Fuel level is low…” over and over. Nice female voice. Barely made it to a gas station. It would tell me “Left door is open”, “Lights are on”, etc. It had badging on the trunk that stated “Datsun by Nissan”. I kept that badging when I sold the car around 1998 for an Altima upgrade and the badge is now on my 1966 roadster glovebox door. That 1982 Maxima was a fine car.
