The reference to R&T below made me browse around a bit, and I saw this article that was interesting about badging on Japanese cars:  http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a5264/go-car-culture-jalopnik-why-japanese-cars-only-use-english-badges/



The article concludes:  "And that's pretty much why a JDM Juke or Fairlady Z is always going to be a "JUKE" or "FAIRLADY" no matter if it'll never leave Japan. It's  because the Japanese respect and honor the origin of things."

The morning e-mail from R & T has a link to a slideshow:?22 of the best Japanese sportscars ever made? featuring their picks of thr top Japanese sportscars. They're listed in chronological order and start with the Fairlady, in 1959 -- though the picture is of a mid-'60s model in SCCA racing form. They list the 510, too, which, though a car I love, I don't consider to be a sportscar, per se.
