Dave,
Oh yeah, big difference! A well tuned 1600 can beat a 2000 in the 1/8th
mile, only because of the gear ratios. You will turn higher rpms on the
freeway, but launching will be easier and quicker.
No difference in the axle housings between the two, but by spinning the
input and counting the output, you can determine the ratio. Once inside,
the gears are marked.
