early 67 low windshield 1600

there is a bar that goes from the top to the bottom of the windshield in the
center.

there are two little screws that hold it in.  they look like they might be
10/32, but Ibm not sure.  there might be chrome in the holes that is making
it difficult to screw in, or I might have the wrong size, and I donbt want
to bugger up the threads.

is that the correct size?  or is it maybe 10/24?
