Jerry,  The Dunlop calipers do have guide pins inside.  The caliper piston
rides it.  If it is bent the piston will bind.  The hydraulic pressure will
force it on the rotor but when the pedal is released the piston does not back
off like it should causing the pads to rub and heat up.

Actually, while I don't have a lot
of knowledge of newer floating calipers,
on older designed fixed calipers the
pads are always lightly rubbing on the
rotors, they do not retract. This
wiping action is one of the reasons for
improved wet braking compared to
drums. Identifying the cause of squeal is
one of those things that can drive
you nuts. It may be caused by sympathetic
vibrations between the pad material
and rotors. If that's the case you may
want to try anti-squeal compound on the
backs of the pads. Or, you may want
to try an aggressive bed in procedure. On
and off chirping can also indicate
disc run-out (many call it warping these
days) Use a dial indicator to see
if the rotors are true. If not, they can be
cut if still within tolerance. 

Also, these Dunlop calipers have no guide
pins, Pins are used on floating
calipers, and yes the pads are the same as the
series 1 XKE.

All,

I have an issue with my brakes that I have
had since I bought the car.  On
shorter drives, I have no issues, but when I
drive for more than an hour I
get this squeak from the brakes.  It sounds like
a squealer on modern disc
brakes to alert when the pads are getting low.  I
get it on both front
brakes but not all the time and not always at the same
time.  Stepping on
the brakes makes it go away for a while, but the it comes
back.  Some times
it is a chirp chirp chirp and other times its a constant
squeal.

So far, I have replaced the hoses with stainless steal, replaced the
pads,
rebuilt the calipers, and bled the brakes several times.  They are
correctly
and fully adjusted.  Any thoughts as to the cause?  It seems like
the
calipers are not retracting completely, but I don't know why.  The
problems
seems worse on hot days, but happens in the cold too.

The pads are a
bit tight in the caliper.  should they be filed down on the
edges?
