[Roadsters] paint question

My understanding is that the old primer is no where as good a primer as
today's primers and, after being applied many years ago may have
degraded some in that time. I would strip it and go with new primer.
I've seen some NOS body parts that were beginning to get surface rust on
them. Don't know if that was because of where they were located (coastal
area), or breakdown of the primer that would nave happened anywhere.
I have a NOS 67.5 hood in my attic in Texas and plan on stripping it
when/if I need to put it on my car.
Peace,
Pat
