Hey - I take exception to the assertion that the single brake master
doesn't do the job. I had a 1964 1500 (single master) that I raced SCCA
gymkhana style racing once a month and beat the heck out of the brakes (four wheel
DRUM brakes with single master) and NEVER NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BRAKING. I
won production E class beating out the euro garbage of there era. After
100K of road and racing, replaced the shoes once.

30 years later my '99 GMC still uses drum brakes on the rear wheels. They
stop the truck and the boat just fine.
With your 1969 you can explain to your confused neighbor he must be
thinking about the old single circuit hydraulics, pre-'68.
Proudly lift the hood and show your superior tandem master brake cylinder.
Oh and don't gloat too much when you wave bye bye down the driveway when
you see him.
