[Roadsters] Air Conditioning

Whilst i haven't fitted A/C yet it is something I am looking into.
I went to my regular Air cond guy who has done my cars for me in the past.

he has fitted vintage air systems to many cars in the past and he has done a
lot of custom work fitting them to hotroads etc.
He says for the most part they are great systems with one qualification.

based on his experience he doesn't have to many good things to say about the
smaller vintage air systems saying they just did not push enough air in his
opinion and were not effective.
he recommends going for the larger system, i think it is call the gen IV or
mark 4 or 5 something like that.
He has fitted a bunch of larger servo controlled units with no problems and is
very complementary of that product.

So I borrowed a blank unit of him to take home and test the fitting.
If you remove the existing heater unit it fits.
yes the passenger loses some foot space but it can be squeezed up under the
dash with the bulk of the unit above the passengers feet and the venting out
lets sitting where the heater unit would normally sit.

this vintage air model also includes heaters and demisters so the old original
heater unit can be removed.

When I get around to going through this process and getting it fitted I will
take pics of the setup.
But don't hold your breath waiting as it will be a while.
I am in the final stages of the complete rebuild with the engine rebuild and
the interior trim being the two main remaining items.
But as these items rely on other peoples skills to complete and thus require
$$$$$ the pace will be dictated by the bank balance. So it will be a few
months before we see A/C fitted.

Vintage Air A/C Systems, not sure if they have something for the Datsun but it
might be a start.
