There were two version of the Tiger the Mark One with a 260 and the Mark 2
With a 289 but 5 or so Mark Ones had the 289 and a buddy in college had one.
Would out run most anything in Fort Wayne at the time As he used to say when
asked if it was a 4 banger " lesson to the exhaust one says I'm four other say
me TOO." As for the turning question that is what the load petal is for .
I'd
love to have one now but most had the bad habit of cracking the frame rails at
the fire wall if used like it was made for.

Gary,
I recall it was a
Ford 260, also. Added lots of weight compared to the
4 in the
Alpine. Ran
great in a straight line, but, as I recall, had
problems changing
direction.

I've also heard that there was a standard
500-mile maintenance for Tigers:
Re-tighten every bolt in the car... ;^)
They
had what, the Ford 260 V-8 was it?

Be
careful the Tiger owners would be dismayed to be compared to an alpine.
Tigers
had a V8 (in an alpine body) and were quite speedy. My 2000 was not
a match
ofi them on a straight line when it was new.
