[Roadsters] oil, fuel, air filters

I have changed my own oil on a variety of vehicles since time began (I am
almost 70). At one time consumers reports tested auto oil filters and the
Fram came out at or near the top for most vehicles. Except for the most
recently purchased that have a computer telling me when to change the oil,
I change oil and filter every 3,00 miles or as close to that as possible

However, on my 93 Ford Explorer with over 300,000 miles I have used
whatever filter Pep Boys, O'Rillys, or Napa happens to have on sale,
usually Purolator, Fram, or sometimes Wix. And any major brand of oil
that's on sale. The same goes with my other vehicles, a Toyota pick-up, a
Honda, and until I recently sold it, a '97 M-Bz. they get whatever comes
along, as long as it is a major brand filter. No vehicle I have owned has
suffered engine wear or damage that i can attribute to either oil or
filter. An oil change exception is my '63 1500 roadster. It does not get
driven 3,000 miles a year, but does get an oil change annually. My
motorhead friends who only use synthetics and exotic brands of filters
seriously disagree with my attitude. So there you have it!
