I second what David Patten says. Short length of fuel line from the
intake side of the fuel pump to a small can of gas. Cranking the car
for several seconds to prime the carbs will also give the engine a
chance to build oil pressure.
Two additional notes:
Note 1:
> Rig up the electric fuel pump hot wire to + on the coil...
Late model Roadsters incorporate a ballast resistor to the coil.
Hooking up to the coil will provide only about 6-8 volts to the
pump, may overheat and burn out the resistor, and will likely
starve the ignition of the power it needs for a good spark.
Note 2:
Late model Roadsters have a fuel return line that will likely
circulate some amount of fuel back to the tank. So while you're
pumping gas into the carbs, you may also be pumping some back
to the tank :-)
