Not to muddy the waters further, and I love the rear quarter view, but does it make more sense to use "Datsun Sports"?  After all, that was what Nissan called them, and it shows the continuation to present models.  For the same reason I would lean toward "since 1962" or similar.  I agree bracketing the dates sounds too final.  As far as cost, for $25 certainly, but at $39 I would have to think about it.
