[Roadsters] 50th anniversary

please don't flame me; I have a roadster.

if I were corporate, I would have figured out that 95% of America have no
clue what a roadster is. and of the remaining 5%, 2% still think its an mg
or at least british.

I bet at least 40% of the population are familiar with the z car in at least
one of its iterations. so if I'm corporate, and I'm totally profit
oriented, why would I try to bring publicity on a product that no one knows
about, and is no longer made? again, I'm just playing devil's advocate
here. what's in it for them?

granted, you could say itbs the precurser, but no one thinks beyond the
surface. they don't look alike. how could that be?

the Z car is still made, so there's motivation to promote it and its
history. I'm just sayin. I wish I thought otherwise

Unfortunately, Nissan USA is not planning anything stateside according
to a corporate affairs person in Tennessee.

The fellow I spoke this morning said he would check with Nissan Japan,
but he had not heard of anything there, either.

Chatting a bit, he didn't really have a reason as to why the company's
not celebrating the 311. He didn't exhibit much knowledge about the
car in the first place, but noted it "didn't catch on" like the Z,
which formed the basis for its 40th anniversary promotion by the
automaker.

Nice thought Gary, which they had been more receptive.
