I've got 1/4-drive 12-point thin-wall sockets in 4mm-12mm, with 4-8mm 
being by 0.5mm, so I would use a 6.5mm socket.

There are also 12-point thin-wall standard sockets.

In each case, (standard and metric) the small socket dimensions are much 
smaller than the drive size.
