Dave,
I presume you have the roughly triangular rounded fitting which receives the
machine screw which goes through the hole in the glass? And, I presume the
plater took the need for the little prong riveted to the frame to fit into
the hole in the fitting? (My plater did not, on the first try, because he
didn't know how the assembly went together. He graciously reworked the
plating, with an admonishment to me to tell them about any parts which need
to fit together in the future. Paul's Chrome in Pennsylvania. Expensive,
but first-rate and highly recommended. He's in "Hemmings".)
I can get some photos tomorrow (Friday) evening, but once you see a photo,
the diagram will make sense. I can send a "clean" scan from the Nissan Parts
Manual, if that will help. (I have a nice photocopy of a dealer's manual I
made -- page by page because not many copiers had automatic feeders at the
time -- one Saturday in 1978. The images are better than the ones in the
DVDs you can buy on eBay.)
