The problem with antique car insurance are the restrictions, i.e. must be
kept in a garage, no daily driving and/or limit on how many miles a year. If
that works for you, terrific, however.....

check for stated value. some require an appraisal; Hagerty does not

While it's nice to dream that an insurance company will use that as
reference, I suspect they will come back with an offer of "totaled for less
than $1000" unless you have a policy that specifically states a replacement
value. My 1600 lost most of the driver's side back to the rear fender when I
got run off the road in 1985 by a drunk coming down the wrong side of a
divided highway at 5 in the afternoon. She ran more than 20 cars off the
road that day. My coverage against an uninsured motorist paid almost $200
:-(
