[Roadsters] No spark... no run... (IT'S ALIVE!!!!)

A huge thank you to all that responded to my questions. I had two
problems...
1.) I had the distributor spade wire on the wrong side of the ignition coil.
It does go to NEG...
2.) The funky braided wire inside the distributor was burnt, toast, gone to
Jesus... as I removed it, it fell into two pieces...

I made another wire to replace it, and viola! The U20 started right up.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x43dJdoKXps (this was before adjusting timing
or carbs...) Started right up...

Victory! At least for now... lots of additional things to be fixed, but at
least I'm driving it again. And the engine pulls hard! Woo Hoo! And the
transmission seems to work. I had disassembled the tranny to fix the 5th
gear neutral problem and this was my first foray into transmission work. I'm
still too chicken to try the welded 5th gear, but after I enjoy the car a bit
around town I'll get up the courage and gently try it without putting too much
force on it.

Now to figure out how to keep the valve cover from leaking (seaping ever so
slightly at the passenger rear corner). The gasket is relatively new, but I
don't want to over tighten the nuts... Anyone make a custom gasket out of
something that seals better?

Cheers! See you all at Shasta 2012 if not sooner...
