I think you're right.  I cannot, however, say for certain.  I think
they were 
stamped on the inside face, near the OD.

Rotor min/max thickness in Brakes section of 311s.org TechWiki. 

I thought
the drums had the max inside diameter stamped into it, at least
the steel
ones. Experts?
