 Uh oh. I don't think I checked the leading shoe/ trailing shoe thing...Well I
guess i had a 50/50 chance of getting it correct.

As others have said, both square holes go on the bottom. Additionally, one
of the shoes will have the lining closer to the square hole than the other.
That's the leading shoe.
