Eric,

Sounds like a good time, although hopelessly mis-named.  To those of us in 
the Upper Midwest, the term "polar bear" associated with any event conjures 
up images of snow and ice, not 50F temperatures and a slight chill in one's 
light jacket and shorts.  ;-)
