Peter,
It might NOT be Roger himself or his computer that's spamming everyone.

His e-mail address may have been "mined" by an address mining "bot" that 
collects e-mail addresses and in turn uses them to disguise the provenance 
of the e-mail.

His computer might be infected with a virus and he's not aware of it.  It 
could also be anyone else on the mail list, including yourself, that's been 
infected and the virus/trojan is using his address as a disguise.

A good virus protection program should not only prevent your getting 
infected but also detect once you have been infected and remove or at least 
indicate what needs to be done. If everyone had a good program installed, 
this type of event would be greatly diminished... sadly it's almost 
impossible to eradicate.

Lastly, when you Reply to ALL, do everyone a favor and edit out the 
addresses in the e-mail itself so that they're not there to be farmed by the 
mining bot.... that's where the bots look first.
