Dave,

Surely you remember what FIAT stands for?  I had a fraternity brother who 
owned one when they were (relatively) new, and his was true to the 
stereotype.  Tore 1st and 2nd out of the trans as he departed the reception 
for his honeymoon.  Drove it with 3rd and 4th for a while....
