"Why are you supposed to be careful with the squirt bottle with water, and
yet the Seafoam is poured into some kind of intake fitting on some cars, or
thru the gas tank?
I wonder what Seadfoam is?

If you overdo any liquid, there is a possibility that the engine will hydro
lock.
i.e. the combustion chamber is full of a non compressible fluid resulting in
a violent ceasing of the up and down movement.
A spray pump application is unlikely to cause that but the Seafoam, whatever
it is, either vapourises quickly or isn't able to remain a fluid for long in
the intake/combustion chamber.
