[Roadsters] Throttle sticks open

If you want to add a little extra security to a ground strap's functionality,
get hold of some conductive antisieze (basically vaseline with zinc dust) and
coat the contact surfaces where the lugs are attached to the frame and the
other component (the starter, in this case) -- and if you feel like going
whole hog, cover the connection with sealant.

This is how the ground straps (for 120V and 440V systems) are handled on the
equipment I work with which is used in a waterfront environment.

Here's the starter-to-frame strap location. I used a braided strap:

Jeff:

Check the battery/frame/engine ground. Make sure you don't have a missing
ground strap anywhere. If you lose ground to the engine, the path the
battery finds back to itself is through the throttle cable. They can get
sticky, or as happened to me, the throttle got sticky, then the cable
finally spot welded itself to the inside of the sheath and that was that.

[snip]

I took it out for its maiden drive a couple of days ago. I drove around for
several miles then stopped for gas. When I started going again, the gas
peddle was "heavy" and hard to smoothly accelerate. I took it out today
several times for short trips with no problems. I then drove it about ten
miles and stop for a bit. When I started up again, the gas pedal was heavy
but this time the throttle stuck open and wouldn't go back to idle.

My guess is that when I stopped the engine temperature rose and the linkage
expanded. Was I supposed to use a lubricant on the linkage? Any ideas.
